Reproducer Repairs / Rebuilds

A phonograph relies on many things to make it a tip-top antique.   The reproducer (part that holds the needle) is one of them.   The phonograph's cabinet could be immaculate and the motor could be serviced but if the reproducer is broke or not adjusted properly, then it would drastically lower the value and quality of the phonograph.

When you send the motor into us for the free estimate, you can easily remove the reproducer and send that in also.   If you don't know how to remove it, it's best not to force it off and just contact me so I can tell you how to remove it.

Reproducer Rebuild Service

The rebuild service is the process of replacing the rubber gaskets on the inside of your reproducer (soundbox).   If these gaskets are petrified and/or cracked, then poor sound will result when you play the phonograph.   The poor sound could be low volume, an annoying rattle noise, or a loud shrieking sound while playing.   Replacing the gaskets with new rubber gaskets would allow the diaphragm to flex as it's supposed to in order to "reproduce" the music from your records.  In order to enjoy your phonograph to the fullest, you'll want this service done.   Other adjustments that your reproducer may need, such as tightening of screws or nuts, would be done during this rebuild service.   After the reproducer is serviced/rebuilt, it is fully adjusted and tested to ensure it will leave our hands in perfect quality.
Price of rebuild: $30 plus parts - parts list can be found at "Parts".
